The screener, rebuilt

A new filter builder over 121 metrics, screeners you can save and come back to, and an email when a stock starts matching one.

There were two screeners for a while: the one you were using, and the one we were building next to it. Now there's one, and it's the new one. Same place in the sidebar, and everything you had saved came across.

Filters read like sentences. A row says IF a metric is at least a value, and rows join with AND. You can also add a metric with SHOW and no condition on it at all, for when you want the column but not the filter. P/E sitting next to your results without screening on it.

There are 121 metrics, grouped the way the rest of the app groups them. Classification, market, scores, dividend, ratios, multiples, growth, price. Most take a period as well as a value, so net income can be the latest figure, the five-year median, or the compound growth rate between 2018 and 2024. A few of them compare against another metric instead of a number, which is the part we're happiest with. "Cheaper than its own five-year median P/E" is a filter you write, not a sum you do afterwards.

Save a screen and it becomes a screener with a name, picked from a switcher at the top of the page. It saves as you go, undo and redo work, and you can duplicate one to experiment in without touching the original. A screen you never save still runs, and its link still works if you send it to someone.

Any saved screener can email you when a stock starts matching it. Daily, weekly or monthly, your call. The switcher marks the ones that are alerting you, so you don't have to open each one to find out.
