Headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, DKS Co. Ltd. is a global producer and purveyor of a diverse range of industrial chemicals and surfactants, serving numerous industries worldwide. The company’s operations are organized into six distinct segments: Surfactants, Amenity Materials, Polyurethane Materials, Functional Materials, Electronic Device Materials, and Life Sciences. Within its Surfactants division, DKS develops various types such as nonionic, anionic, cationic, polymerizable, and amphoteric compounds, in addition to specialized surfactant blends. The Amenity Materials segment features products like sucrose fatty acid esters, sodium carboxymethyl celluloses, cellulose nanofibers and other polymers, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyacrylamide and polyacrylate, and industrial deodorizers. Its Polyurethane Materials offerings include polyether polyols, urethane prepolymers, and comprehensive urethane systems. For Functional Materials, DKS manufactures radiation-curable monomers and oligomers, waterborne polyurethanes, flame retardants, and amide-based lubricants. The Electronic Device Materials group supplies ionic liquids, ion-conductive polymers, ceramic/metal injection molding components, conductive pastes for electronic applications, injection molding pellets, and advanced inorganic materials. Furthermore, the Life Sciences segment crafts health and dietary supplements, notably an I. Japonica-Bombyx Fungus product and Sudachin, a distinct citrus peel extract powder. Founded in 1909, the firm was formerly known as Dai-ichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd. before rebranding to DKS Co. Ltd. in 2013.
