Okamoto Glass Co., Ltd., established in 1928 and headquartered in Kashiwa, Japan, specializes in the development and sale of industrial-grade, custom glass solutions and multi-layer vapor-deposited film products. The company's operations are divided into distinct segments: Optical Business, Lighting Business, Functional Thin Film and Glass Business, and an 'Other' category. The Optical division is responsible for manufacturing and supplying specialized components like fly-eye lenses and reflectors, primarily for digital cinema projection systems. Its Lighting segment focuses on producing glass for automotive headlights and fog lights, in addition to various general illumination glass items. The Functional Thin Film and Glass segment creates and markets durable silver mirrors, applies decorative vacuum deposition to items such as glass containers, LCD screens, and glass powder, and also fabricates washing machine door glass and dental mirrors. Beyond these areas, the company's extensive product portfolio includes fundamental glass materials, custom-molded glass components, optically and functionally coated items, specialized glass spheres and parts for oceanic spacecraft, and diverse glass powder derivatives.
