Sumitomo's Living Related & Real Estate interests include operating food supermarkets and drugstore chains, trading cement and building materials, and undertaking various real estate developments. Finally, the Mineral Resources, Energy, Chemical & Electronics segment is deeply engaged in the development and trading of a vast array of commodities. These include coal, iron ore, manganese, uranium, non-ferrous and precious metals, petroleum, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas, alongside commodity derivative transactions.
