The A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund functions as a specialized trust whose main investment is in A&W Trade Marks Inc. Through a limited partnership, A&W Trade Marks Inc. possesses the A&W brand trademarks, which are essential to the quick-service restaurant operations throughout Canada. A&W Trade Marks Inc. subsequently licenses these valuable trademarks to A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. As of January 2, 2022, the A&W restaurant system included a total of 1,029 outlets. Of these, 1,019 are operated by independent franchisees under agreements with A&W Food Services, with the remaining ten being directly owned and managed by A&W Food Services itself. The Fund was established in 2001 and is located in North Vancouver, Canada.
