About Burcon NutraScience Corporation
Burcon NutraScience Corporation, along with its associated entities, is a Canadian enterprise specializing in the development and commercialization of plant-derived proteins and functional ingredients for the food and beverage sectors. Its extensive product line features Peazazz, a versatile pea protein suitable for a range of applications including dairy alternatives, ready-to-drink and dry-blended beverages, snack bars, baked goods, and meat substitutes. Also derived from peas, Peazac and Peazac 850 are tailored for plant-based meat alternatives, ready-to-mix powders and drinks, dairy-free options, and nutritional bars, particularly valued for their neutral taste profile and moderate textural properties. Among its canola-based proteins is Puratein, an isolate frequently utilized in meat alternatives such as burgers and sausages, as well as nutrition bars. Supertein, a pale-hued canola protein powder, is incorporated into non-dairy frozen desserts, egg replacers, plant-based marshmallows, ready-to-mix beverages, whipped toppings, and plant-based snack bars. Additionally, Nutratein, a canola protein composed of globulin and albumin, finds utility in meat and egg alternatives, alongside various other functional plant-based foods. Further expanding its offerings are Nutratein-PS and Nutratein-TZ, custom blends featuring its Peazac pea protein, alongside CLARISOY, a soy protein employed across sports nutrition beverages, citrus and fruit-flavored drinks, lemonades, powdered beverage mixes, and diverse other food and dietary items. Finally, MeritPro stands as a unique nutritional protein blend, distinguished by being allergen-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly. Originally incorporated in 1998 as Burcon Capital Corp., the firm rebranded to Burcon NutraScience Corporation in October 1999. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Vancouver, Canada.
