Headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, formerly known as PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk until its name change in September 2011, has been a key player in the mineral industry since its incorporation in 1968. The company's primary focus involves the comprehensive cycle of nickel and related mineral products, encompassing exploration, mining, processing, storage, transportation, and marketing across Indonesia and to international markets including Canada and Japan. It manages an extensive concession area covering 118,017 hectares in central, south, and southeast Sulawesi. Beyond nickel, PT Vale Indonesia also undertakes exploration for other valuable resources such as iron ore, pellets, manganese, ferroalloys, coal, and copper deposits. Complementing its core mining operations, the company provides essential infrastructure and services, including railroad, port and terminal, and shipping logistics. It further diversifies its activities through the operation of three hydroelectric power plants, energy transmission and distribution, and involvement in steelmaking.
