Its primary focus is on railway infrastructure, where it specializes in constructing new railway lines, rehabilitating and converting existing networks, and building station facilities, bridges (including regirdering), tunnels, and advanced signaling, telecommunication, and electrification systems. Ircon also engages in the wet leasing of locomotives and sets up complete production units for rolling stock, maintenance depots, concrete sleepers, and other track components on a turnkey basis.
