About Repsol, S.A.
Repsol, S.A. is a global integrated energy corporation, headquartered in Madrid, Spain, and established in 1927. Its operations span the entire energy value chain, structured into three primary segments. The Exploration and Production division focuses on the discovery, development, and extraction of crude oil and natural gas reserves worldwide. The Industrial segment manages refining operations and petrochemical manufacturing, in addition to the trading and transportation of crude oil and petroleum products. Beyond these core business areas, Repsol offers a broad range of specialized products and services. The company produces and markets asphalt, lubricants, biofuels, and various chemical products. It constructs and operates oil refineries, refines and markets hydrocarbons, and manages a network of service stations. Additional services include maritime operations, electricity distribution, and active involvement in developing new energy solutions, particularly solar and wind projects. Repsol also engages in the marketing, research, trading, and transportation of fuels and specialized products, alongside insurance, reinsurance, and financing activities. The company fosters innovation by developing nanoparticles and nanofibers for materials, energy, and biomedicine applications, and implements blockchain technology across the retail, energy, and automotive sectors. Its ventures further include producing synthetic oil cloths, investing in liquefaction plant projects, and providing water treatment technology management. The company changed its name to Repsol, S.A. in May 2012, having previously operated as Repsol YPF, S.A.
