Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, VERBUND AG (founded in 1947 and known as Österreichische Elektrizitätswirtschafts- Aktiengesellschaft until its 2010 renaming) is a leading energy enterprise engaged in the generation, trading, and supply of electricity. It serves a broad range of customers, including energy exchanges, other power traders, electric utilities, industrial companies, as well as private households and commercial entities, both domestically in Austria and across international markets. The company's operations are segmented into Hydro, New Renewables, Sales, Grid, and All Other. By December 31, 2021, VERBUND AG's power generation assets included 8,307 megawatts (MW) of hydropower, 418 MW from wind farms, 3 MW from solar installations, and 1,013 MW from thermal power plants. In addition to its electricity activities, the company oversees Austria's national electricity transmission network, manages a long-distance gas pipeline and a gas distribution network, participates in gas trading and sales, and delivers a variety of energy-related services.
